A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between southwestern Tay Ninh province and Svay Rieng province of Cambodia on July 27 on the opening of the Cay Me-Tho Look border gate.

The opening aims to expand trade operations and create favourable conditions for Vietnamese and Cambodian people to do cross-border business and travel.

Up to now, the 240 km-long border between Tay Ninh province and Svay Rieng, Prey Veng and Kompong Cham provinces of Cambodia exists only two international border gates, namely the Moc Bai-Ba Vet and the Xa Mat-Tropeng Polong, and the Ka Tum-Can Mul National Border Gate. (VNA)
