Laos fosters ties with Vietnam

General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and State President Choumaly Sayasone affirmed that Laos will do its best to foster the special ties with Vietnam .

The Lao leader made the affirmation while receiving Nguyen Van Son, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and the National Assembly's Standing Committee in Vientiane on September 28.

Son, who is also Head of the NA's Committee for External Affairs, briefed the host on the Vietnamese new NA's measures aimed at accelerating the renovation process and integration into the global economy, which were adopted at the recent first session.

He conveyed greetings from Vietnamese Party and State leaders to President Choumaly Sayasone and other Party and State leaders of Laos .

Son and his entourage were also received by Chairman of the Lao National Assembly Thoongsin Thammavong and Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavad.

Son held talks with Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly and Head of the Lao NA's Committee for External Affairs Saysomphone Phomvihane. (VNA)
