Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Dung on May 29 reiterated Vietnam's support for the peace process in the Middle East as tensions escalate again in the Gaza strip.

"Vietnam supports every effort to boost the peace process in the Middle East in order to reach an equal and sustainable solution on the basis of respecting the interests of related parties and the basic rights of the Palestinian on establishing an independent Palestinian state", the spokesman said while answering correspondent's question on the issue.

"We call on both sides to ease tensions and cease military actions to avoid the loss of innocent civilians", he concluded. (VNA)
