Memorabilia of the August
Revolution are being displayed at the Vietnam Revolution
Museum, including original items made public for the first
time, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the
establishment of an independent Vietnam.
Nearly 300 objects on display were selected from
collections of many museums and historical sites nationwide,
including collections of revolutionary leaflets and newspapers
distributed at the time, weapons and daily items of the people
and revolutionaries, and fine art works created during the
period.
Viewers can have a look at many personal belongings of
President Ho Chi Minh, such as his handgun, hammock,
typewriter, and the clothes he wore on the day he read the
Declaration of Independence. There are also daily items of
revolutionaries imprisoned at the Hoa Lo prison in Hanoi.
Vice President Truong My Hoa, General Chu Huy Man and many
veteran revolutionaries attended the inaugural ceremony of the
exhibition on August 16. (VNA) |
