Seminar stresses significance of August Revolution

The August Revolution ushered in an era of national independence and socialism in Vietnam, emphasised a seminar entitled "The 60th anniversary of the August Revolution and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam" in Hanoi on August 15.

During the seminar, which was held by the Vietnam Institute of Social Sciences, over 20 reports and speeches supplemented and demonstrated great significances of the August Revolution. They also pointed out the Party's strategy and President Ho Chi Minh's role in leading the revolution to success, as well as reasons for the victory.

Participants affirmed that Vietnam drew many experiences from the revolution for the country's past assistance wars against French and US aggressors, and its current renovation process. (VNA)
