Vietnam to become full WTO member next month

Vietnam will become a full member of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) on January 11, 2007, said WTO Director General Pascal Lamy in his diplomatic note sent to Vietnam’s permanent mission in Geneva, Switzerland.

WTO is considered as a “new playground” with new opportunities and also new challenges for Vietnamese businesses. Local business leaders should not be too optimistic, and also not too anxious but confident and composed in entering this playground.
