Striker Le Cong Vinh who scored the crucial last minute winner goal in the last minute in the final  to help Vietnam be crowned as the ASEAN Champions for the first time donated all VND 90 million for the poor with the auction sale of his shirt.

Vinh proposed to grant the shirt which he wore in the semifinal against Singapore at the AFF Suzuki Cup as an auction item in a programme entitled Noi Vong Tay Lon (Joining Hands in a Great Circle) to raise Fund for the poor, co-organised by the Central Committee for Vietnam Fatherland Front, Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Army Telecommunications Company (Viettel) on December 31.

With a starting price of VND 1 million, after three bids, the shirt was sold to Hong Kong Beauty Salon in Hanoi at the final price of VND 90 million. The proceeds will be reserved for the Fund for the Poor. (Nhan Dan Online and Tien Phong).
