Nhan Dan Newspaper ’s Culture, Literature and Arts Department has selected Top ten Vietnam's sport events in 2009.

1- Vietnam achieves great success, finishing second at the 25th SEA Games in Vientiane, Laos.

2- Vietnam successfully holds the third Asian Indoor Games and ranks second.

3- Runner Vu Thi Huong named the best athlete of 2009.

4- Vietnam women’s football team rewin the SEA Games title.

5- U-23 squad miss opportunity to win the gold medal at the 25th SEA Games

6- Shooter Ngo Huu Vuong wins four medals at the 25th SEA Games.

7- SHB Da Nang win the V-League title after 17 years.

8- Badminton Nguyen Tien Minh ranks seventh in the world, the highest ever position for a Vietnamese player.

9- Striker Le Cong Vinh becomes the first Vietnamese footballer to play in Europe, joining Portugal’s Leixoes on a four-month loan.

10- Becamex Binh Duong become the first Vietnamese club to reach semi-final at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup.
