In the first 15 minutes, Cambodia played well and had more chances to score than Thailand. But in the 18th minute, Sompong Soleb helped Thailand take the lead when he headed to open the scoring.

After the goal, Thailand dominated the game but Cambodia continued playing well in their defence. In the 45th minute, Keawsombut Keerati doubled the score when he headed from Arthit’s cross. One minute later, Soleb widened the gap for Thailand with his fine strike.

Five minutes into the second half, it was Soleb who scored the fourth goal for Thailand, completing his hattrick in the match.

In the last ten minutes of the second half, Cambodia intensified their attacks to score the consolation goal but failed to and conceded a 4-0 loss.
