Nhan Dan Online - Two second half goals by Tran Duy
Quang and Nguyen Minh Nghia earned Hoang Anh Gia Lai top spot
in the V-League after beating PISICO Binh Dinh 2-0 in Quy Nhon.
Elsewhere, Binh Duong beat Dong Thap 1-0 in their first game
at the 2007 national championship/V-League.
Twice champions Hoang Anh Gia Lai
started their first match with a 3-5-2 formation while hosts
PISICO Binh Dinh lined up with three frontmen Khoa Thanh, Minh
Minh and Sorayoot.
The hosts produced real problem
for Hoang Anh Gia Lai’s back three. In the first half, Khoa
Thanh’s set up Sorayoot with flashed cross but the Thai
striker could not apply a final touch.
After the first half, Hoang Anh
Gia Lai brought on Thai veteran Dusit Chalemsem for Yea Preko.
Dusit’s presence released Duy Quang from a defending task,
gives him have more space to move forward. Five minutes into
the second half, Gia Hoang made a good run on the right flank
before setting Duy Quang who opened the scoring.
Three minutes from time, Thai
midfield Sakda dispossessed Thanh Phuong and fed Minh Nghia,
who beat goalkeeper Minh Quang with a sensational finish.
Winning the game, Hoang Anh Gia
Lai are now top in the V-League table.
Elsewhere in Dong Thap, Binh Duong
took revenge for their defeat to Dong Thap at the national
cup, winning 1-0 with a goal by Huynh Quang Thanh.
Manager Le Thuy Hai was determined
to gain three points, lining up three forwards Amaobi, Kesley
and Philani. The visitors dominated the game and went in front
after 14 minutes. Goalkeeper Van Tuong dropped Kesley’s
freekick at the feet of Quang Thanh, who found the net.
The deflated young players of Dong
Thap faced more difficulties in the remaining time of the
first half, after their star striker Phan Thanh Binh limped
off due to injury in the 27th minute.
After the break, the hosts made
great efforts to get back into the game but were unable to
find an equaliser.
In Nam Dinh, two second half goals
by Van Vinh and Cong Vinh helped Song Lam Nghe An deny their
hosts Phu My Nam Dinh.
The hosts took a 2-0 lead in the
first half with goals by Eric Harrison and Odibe Chukwunwike
but failed to add to their lead in the rest of the game.
Other results are as follows: Da
Nang beat Southern Steel Saigon Port 1-0 with a goal by
Almeida De Emidio and Khatoco Khanh Hoa were held to a 1-1
draw by newly promoted Halida Thanh Hoa.
Earlier, on March 3, Hoa Phat
Hanoi beat ACB.HN 1-0 and Dong Tam Long An won 1-0 over Huda
Hue.
