An moved into second place after crushing Hoang Anh Gia Lai
2-0 at Vinh stadium yesterday while The Cong, Military Zone
IV and Ho Chi Minh City club suffered heavy losses to the
Khanh Hoa, Nam Dinh and T & T respectively in the 19th
round.
Two second half goals by Van
Quyen and Din Akame helped Song Lam Nghe An earn a victory
over Hoang Anh Gia Lai. Song Lam Nghe An and Hoang Anh Gia
Lai finished the first half in a 0-0 draw.
But in the second half
everything was changed. Dead-ball expert Van Quyen opened
the scoring with his super free-kick shot. Three minutes
later Din Akame headed home from Van Quyen’s free-kick,
doubling the score. Beating powerhouse Hoang Anh Gia Lai,
Song Lam Nghe An moved into second place with 30 points from
19 matches.
Nam Dinh demolished Military
Zone IV 6-1 at Thien Truong stadium, moving out of the
relegation zone to 11th place with 23 points while hosts
Khanh Hoa trounced The Cong 3-0 and T & T Hanoi demolished
Ho Chi Minh City 5-1
Meanwhile Hai Phong edged hosts
Dong Thap 1-0 in a very tense game, earning three precious
points.

Binh Duong drew with Dong Tam
Long An 1-1 at Go Dau stadium packed with fans. Dong Tam
Long An took the lead in the when Van Khai opened the
scoring in the 38th minute. But Mbabazi’s powerful shot in
the 86th minute rescued a point for hosts Binh Duong.
Da Nang affirmed their
leadership when defeating Thanh Hoa 2-1 at Chi Lang stadium,
topping the V- League with 12 points clear at the top of the
table.
As a result, Thanh Hoa with 16
points, Military Zone IV with 21 points and Ho Chi Minh City
with 22 points (but have one match to play) are at the
bottom.
