The Vovinam-Mexico organisation
inaugurated a new training facility named New Generation in
Anvaro Obregon district, Mexico D.F, on February 6.
Addressing the opening ceremony,
Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Van Que congratulated the
organisation for the rapid growth of this Vietnamese martial
art in the North American country.
“Vovinam is a realistic practice
that helps strengthen relations between Vietnam and Mexico
and through Vovinam artists Mexicans will better understand
the Vietnamese culture and people,” said the diplomat.
A representative from the Alvaro
Obregon district, Francisco Benitez, pledged to back the
development of Vovinam in Obregon.
The Vovinam-Mexico organisation
has so far boasted 25 training facilities, mostly in Mexico
City, drawing some 600 members with the youngest age of just
