The defeat saw Dong Tam
drop from third to sixth place.
Nhan Dan Online - The sixteenth
round of V-League on May 11 witnessed a match which included
not only many goals and tough competition but also poor
performance of the referee. The hosts Da Nang won the
controversial game which was delayed for over 20 minutes due
to both teams' protest.
Da Nang pushed pressure on the
guests Dong Tam Long An since the beginning of the match and
they took an early lead in the third minute following a goal
by Almeida.
Twelve minutes later, a far kick
by Antonio resulted in an equaliser for the guests. Both team
restarted their drive to secure a win until a critical
situation in the 74th minute.
Dourado received a pass from Tai
Em and scored a goal for Dong Tam Long An. The referee
recognised the goal, however, the hosts including the team and
fans strongly protested against the decision, blaming over
Dourado's blunder against their goalkeeper.
Da Nang players left the field and
the referee had to discuss with the two linemen and the
captains of both teams. A reverse decision was made, denying
the goal of Dong Tam Long An. Then it came the response of the
visitors who stepped out the field to protest the referee's
poor performance.
After a long delay, both team
continued the game from the 1-1 score. Da Nang escaped from
the risk of losing on their home field, launching consecutive
attacks.

Referee Nguyen Xuan Hoa
failed to defend his decision.
Hong Minh and Almeida scored two
more goals for Da Nang in the 85th and 89th minutes. Tshamala
narrowed the gap in the last minute of the game, however the
guests had to accept a loss.
Da Nang now rank tenth with 19
points while Dong Tam Long An dropped from third to sixth
place with 24 points.
The match showed that much is left
to be desired on the part of referees and players'
unsporting behaviour, especially in those matches of tough competition.
Also in the meantime, Haiphong
gained only one point in a 1-1 draw with Khanh Hoa, still
holding their top position. Haiphong's place is being
threatened by The Cong who will play against Nam Dinh in a
late game on May 13.
In other matches, both teams from
Hanoi, Hoa Phat Hanoi and Hanoi ACB, failed to improve their
bottom situation after losing 2-0 and 3-0 over Binh Dinh and
Hoang Anh Gia Lai.
Defending champions Binh Duong
drew 1-1 with Southern Steel Saigon Port while Song Lam Nghe
An defeated Thanh Hoa 1-0, rising to the second place.
