Thailand come from behind to draw 2-2 with Vietnam

Nhan Dan Online- Thailand came back from behind to draw 2-2 with Vietnam in an attracting game in Vientiane yesterday. Started the match without Kim Chi in the line-up but Vietnam played well and took the lead early. In the 4th minute. Nguyen Thi Muon scored the opener from Van Thi Thanh’s wonderful pass.

After the goal Thailand pushed up to equalise but failed to. On the contrary, they conceded the second goal. In the 31st minute, Van Thi Thanh’s super shot from a corner kick doubled the score for Vietnam.

Thailand tried their best to come back from two down and their efforts paid off. In the 41st minute, in effort to clear the shot  from Thai side defender Ngoc Anh had her own goal.

In the second half, Thailand played better and levelled the score in the 89th minute when Peangthem Sukunua used Vietnamese defenders’ mistake to score the equaliser. As a result, Thailand ranked first with 8 points from four matches.

Earlier in another match, Laos defeated Malaysia 5-0 to rank third with 4 points from three matches.

Vietnam ranked second with 5 points from three games and  need to beat Laos in the last group game tomorrow to reach the final.

At the 25th SEA Games, five national teams (Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar and hosts Laos) are scheduled to play in a round robin format to choose the two top teams for the final.
