Nhan Dan - The torch of the 2009 Asian Youth Games was lightened in Singapore last night.

Vietnam has sent a squad of 46 members with 32 athletes, six coaches and 11 officials, doctors and specialists to compete in six sporting events including table tennis, shooting, athletics, swimming, bowling and diving.

The multi-sport event, held from June 29 to July 7 has attracted more than 1,000 athletes from 45 countries and territories.
