General Manager of Melia
Hanoi received trophy and certificate from Vietnam Minister
of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Nhan Dan Online- Thirty hotels,
20 travel agencies and 15 tourism service enterprises were
presented with the 2010 Vietnam Tourism Award at a ceremony
in Hanoi on June 29.
This is the most prestigious
tourism award organised by the Vietnam National
Administration of Tourism which is to recognise the hotels
with the best services and facilities in 2009.
This year’s awards went to ten
major outbound tourism firms, including Saigontourist, Ben
Thanh Tourist, Tan Dinh Tourist, Apex Vietnam, Exotissimo,
Vietnam Tourism JS Company in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City,
Hoa Binh Tourist, Vietravel and Huong Giang Tourism.
Ten inbound travel firms also
won recognition, including Vitours, Lua Viet, Viet Culture,
Youth Tourism, and Hanoitourist.
The organising board also
presented an award for the most dynamic and creative travel
firm to the Young Generation Tourism Company and the
Oriental Tourism and Trade Co., Ltd.
The top ten hotel awards for
best 5-star hotels included Majestic, Melia Hanoi,
Renaissance Riverside Saigon, Hanoi Daewoo, InterContinental
Hanoi Westlake, Vinpearl Resort & Spa and Six Senses
Hideaway Ninh Van Bay etc.
Morten Andersen, General Manager
of Melia Hanoi said: “We are very honored to receive this
award but still, it is also a positive pressure on us to try
our best to keep improving the services to a higher level.”
“It’s not only the services of
Melia Hanoi, it’s the part of Vietnam tourism services for
foreigner friends in this integration time,” he added.
19 hotels were also honoured
with the title “Green Hotel” by the ASEAN Environment
Organisation. These hotels have made significant
contributions to the country’s tourism as well as
environmental protection, energy saving and sustainable
business development. |
