Nhan Dan – Lang
Co Bay in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue has been
listed as one of the “World’s Most Beautiful Bays” club (Worldbays
Club) since mid May this year after the club’s 5th
conference held in Setubal, Portugal.
Lang Co is
Vietnam’s third bay after Ha Long Bay and Nha Trang Bay were
admitted to the club and is one of the 30 world’s most
beautiful bays until now.
Located 60 km
from Hue ancient city to the south and 20 km from Da Nang to
the north, Lang Co is also amidst world cultural heritages
of Hue ancient town, Hoi An old quarters and My Son
sanctuary.
With its 13
km in length, Lang Co beach borders a section of the 1A
National Highway, nearly Hai Van Pass, and 24 km from Bach
Ma National Park area. With its gradual slope, white sand
beach, the average depth of under 1m and the average
temperature in the bathing season of 25°C, Lang Co is an
ideal beach for tourists.
In Lang Co
sea, there are various kind of shrimps, lobsters, sea
shrimps, crabs, butter-fish, mackerel fish, oysters...
People’s
Committee chairman of Lang Co town Le Van Tinh said “In the
past, Lang Co is the a stop over of passengers when they
crossed Hai Van Pass, but since the Hai Van tunnel is built,
the area is very busy. During weekends, it is very crowded
with tourists from Hue and Da Nang.
A new tourist
site has recently been built on an area of 10,000 sq metres,
providing 60 guests’ rooms and villas with four star
standard.
In the
development plan for 2025, Thua Thien- Hue province has
asserted its effort to develop the potential of tourism in
Lang Co, thus making it a key economic sector of the
province and the central region. |
