Cyclo demonstration in the Nha Trang Sea festival

Nhan Dan Online- In the framework of Nha Trang Sea Festival, the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism gathered fishermen to recalls fish praying ritual which is considered the most important ritual in this coastal city.

In the fish praying rituals, people wish for a good weather and sea full of fish. The ritual is often held in the beginning or in the middle of the fishing season.

Also part of the Sea Festival, magnificent carnival in Nha Trang city  impressed thousands of local people and international tourists on June 9.

The carnival festival featured an art performance given by more than 1,000 local and Ho Chi Minh City artists and students, and a peaceful and beautiful Nha Trang beach image.

It also saw the procession of six flower-adorned cars with the attendance of Miss World 2004 Maria Julia Mantinlla Garcia, Miss World 2008 Ksenia Sukhinova and Miss Indonesia 2009.

Meanwhile, a gymnastics record was set on June 11 as part of the 2009 Nha Trang Sea Festival.

The gymnastics event “Nha Trang - civilisation and friendship” drawing more than 6,000 people began at 5.30am on June 11 on Tran Phu road, along the beach.

It aimed to create a joyful atmosphere and a good image of a civilised and friendly city.

Other activities were also held, including a chess competition at 2/4 Square and a concert at the Ponagar Tower.

The 2009 Nha Trang Sea Festival will close on June 12.
