gastronomy festival 2010 will be held in the southern
coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau from July 21-25 with the
participation of around 80 countries and territories.
The festival
will be organised a long the 3 km-long beautiful beaches of
Thuy Van and Bai Sau in Vung Tau city, Ho Van Nien, Vice
Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, and Pham
Quang Vinh, assistant to the Foreign Minister, said at a
press briefing held in Hanoi on March 11.
The festival
will also include markets on specialties and dishes from all
63 provinces and cities in Vietnam.
With five
main subjects, including gastronomy, culture, festivities,
shopping and retreat, the event is expected to provide
visitors with opportunities to enjoy traditional dishes and
beverages, explore different cultures, shop and take part in
a colourful parade with thousands of other people from
different countries as well as different areas in Vietnam.
During the
festival, cooking demonstrations will be held on the
beaches.
The
organising board hopes the festival will become an annual
traditional event in Vung Tau province and will be
recognised as a Guinness world record in terms of the
longest sea beach space for a gastronomy festival. |
