Korean food festival and exhibition opens in Hanoi

Various kinds of Korean kimchi are introduced at the festival.

Nhan Dan Online- The second Korean food festival and exhibition in Vietnam opened last night in Hanoi.

The festival, held by the Korea Cultural Centre in Vietnam and the Korea Food Trade Association, aims at introducing daily food of Korean people to Vietnamese public.

Around 50 kinds of food such as kimchi (Korean salted vegetables), ginseng, tea, noodle and fruits are introduced at the exhibition.

Not only having a chance to taste typical Korean food, visitors can also enjoy traditional performance and folk games of Korean people. They can also make kimchi by themselves under the instruction of Dr Han Gui Jeong from the Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Aquaculture.

A Korean singing contest and talks on Korean food exports are also being held during the event.

Speaking at the press conference held in Hanoi yesterday, head of the Korean Food Trade Association Kim Young Wook said: “The festival not only introduces high quality Korean food to Vietnamese consumers but also helps expanding culture exchange as well as increasing the culinary culture of the two countries.”

The festival and exhibition is held from November 13 to 15 at Big C supermarket, Hanoi.
