Nhan Dan- The
Buon Me Thuot-Dak Lak Tourism and Culture Week entitled “
The Legend of the Central Highlands Elephant” opened in the
central highlands province of Dak Lak on December 16.
A diverse
range of music and dancing was performed by several local
ensembles after the opening ceremony.
Later, the
same day, various ethnic groups such as Ede, M’nong, J’Rai
and 12 elephants held a parade through the main streets of
Buon Me Thuot.
The highlight
of the event is the elephant festival in which 30 elephants
take part in run race and swimming competition.
The festival
also includes a street festival, a wood sculpturing area, a
culinary festival and folk games, exhibitions and fairs on
culture, tourism, trade and investment.
The event
runs from December 16-20 in Buon Me Thuot city and the
districts of Buon Don, Krong Bong. |
