Nhan Dan- The Southern Fruit Festival was launched yesterday in Ho Chi Minh City’s Suoi Tien Cultural Tourist.

More than 50 species of fruit are showcased, including famous specialities of southern provinces like Lai Thieu jackfruit, Nam Roi grapefruit, Go Cong watermelon, An Phuoc plum and Long Khanh rambutan. Particularly, those fruits are on sale at 60 malls there with 20-40% discount as compared with the price in the market.

The fruit festival will also feature activities such as a fruit procession, exhibitions of ornamental trees and animals, fruit markets and a contest where participants will create art works out of fruit.

Twenty six dishes made from fruit will also introduce to visitors.

The festival will run until the end of August.
