Remains of Vietnamese volunteers repatriated

The authorities of Champasak province held a solemn ceremony to repatriate 49 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who had sacrificed their lives in battlefields in Laos.

This was the second time Champasak province has paid farewell to remains of Vietnamese martyrs. These remains were collected from three southern provinces of Champasak, Xe Kong and Attapeu.

Speaking at the ceremony, Champasak Deputy Governor Somsanith Boutivong expressed deep gratitude to Vietnamese volunteers and experts who had contributed to the fraternal Lao people’s struggle for national independence.

He also affirmed that the sacrifice would further tighten the traditional solidarity between Laos and Vietnam. (VNA)
