Dan Online- The second Korean ginseng festival opened last
night in Hanoi, introducing over 60 kinds of ginsengs to
Vietnamese consumers.
The festival has the
participation of 20 businesses from Geumsan district of the
Republic of Korea. Two years ago, ginseng from this region
was first introduced to Vietnamese people.
The festival also introduces
methods to process products from ginseng such as wine, tea,
dried ginseng and ginseng juice to Vietnamese customers.
The event includes activities
aimed at strengthening cultural exchange between the two
countries such as traditional games, traditional Samulnori
art performance from RoK and singing contest…
According to Park Dong Cheol,
Geumsan prefecture, ginseng, which has a long history in
Korean medicine, is grown in Geumsan prefecture, a
mountainous area with a favourable climate and soil
conditions for ginseng growing, and harvested after three to
six years.
The event, organised by the
Republic of Korea Cultural Centre in Vietnam, Star Korea
Vietnam Company and Geumsan district of RoK takes place at
Big C supermarket in Hanoi until January 31.
